About Us
Our Story
Every meaningful ministry begins with God at work.
For us, that work unfolded through years of walking alongside women whose lives had been marked by addiction, trauma, abuse, broken relationships, incarceration, and hopelessness.
While serving in jail ministry, we witnessed women encounter the life-changing love of Jesus Christ behind prison walls. Many made sincere decisions to follow Him. They longed for healing, freedom, and a new beginning.
Yet one question kept returning:
"What happens when they leave?"
Too often, women left with genuine faith and a desire for a different life, only to return to the same environments, the same relationships, and the same cycles that had once held them captive.
The desire to change was real.
The love of Christ was real.
But the support needed to build an entirely new life was often missing.
At the same time, one of us understood that struggle personally.
Having experienced addiction firsthand, she knows the grip it can have on a person's life—and also the incredible freedom found through Jesus Christ. Lasting transformation is possible, but it rarely happens in isolation. It grows through biblical discipleship, safe relationships, practical support, authentic community, loving accountability, and people willing to faithfully walk beside one another.
As Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." We were never meant to grow alone.
Through many conversations, much prayer, and God's faithful leading, He began weaving these experiences together into a shared vision.
What if there was a place where women could not only recover—but truly flourish?
A place where healing wasn't rushed.
Where grace and accountability walked hand in hand.
Where women were known by name, encouraged daily, and reminded that their identity is found in Christ rather than their past.
That vision became The Greenhouse Ministry.
Why "The Greenhouse?"
A greenhouse is a place where young plants receive exactly what they need to become healthy and strong. They receive light. Water. Warmth. Nourishment. Protection. Care. Time. The right environment.
With patient cultivation, what begins as fragile gradually becomes strong enough to flourish.
We believe God often works in people's lives the same way.
Many women come to us after years of instability, trauma, addiction, incarceration, or unhealthy relationships. Like tender plants, they don't need condemnation—they need an environment where healing can take root and new life can grow.
The Greenhouse Ministry exists to provide that environment.
Rooted in Christ, women are surrounded by biblical discipleship, recovery support, counseling, practical life skills, authentic community, loving accountability, and abundant grace. Together, these become the conditions God uses to cultivate lasting transformation.
Our desire is to see women become "rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith" (Colossians 2:7), growing into the women God created them to be.
Our goal is not simply sobriety.
It is not simply housing.
It is not simply employment.
Our prayer is that every woman who walks through our doors encounters the transforming love of Jesus Christ, discovers her God-given identity, and leaves equipped to flourish spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and practically for years to come.
As Jesus said, "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10)
We believe lasting change is possible because "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
And we consider it a privilege to walk beside women as God grows, strengthens, and prepares them for the life He has called them to live.
